Queenie B’s Soul Food is more than a food truck—it is a living tribute to family, love, and legacy. Founded by Vangie Bennett, the concept was born from a lifelong passion for cooking and a deep desire to honor her late mother’s dream of running a restaurant together as a family.
After leaving California, Vangie was reminded by her daughter of a promise rooted in memory and love: to honor Grandma’s legacy. While opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant felt financially out of reach at the time, Vangie found a meaningful and practical path forward through a food truck—allowing her to build something special without sacrificing the vision.
Cooking has always been part of Vangie’s life. She has been preparing meals since the age of ten, and every dish brings her closer to memories of cooking alongside her mother. That connection is felt in every plate served at Queenie B’s Soul Food.
The menu reflects her New Orleans roots and soulful creativity, featuring deep-fried turkey wings, deep-fried ribs, award-winning boudin balls, jambalaya, and fresh beignets. Each dish is prepared with care, experience, and a seasoning blend she created herself—one that is salt-free yet full of bold Cajun flavor.
What truly sets Queenie B’s apart is the experience. Customers aren’t treated like transactions—they’re treated like family. Whether it’s a warm smile, a hug, a prayer, or a simple moment of kindness, Southern hospitality is at the heart of the brand. Guests leave with more than a meal; they leave feeling seen, welcomed, and valued.
Vangie believes passion must come before profit. She encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams for the right reasons, prepare for challenges, and remain consistent through the ups and downs. Weather changes, slow days, and unexpected hurdles are part of the journey—but perseverance makes the difference.
Looking ahead, Vangie’s vision includes expanding Queenie B’s Soul Food into a brick-and-mortar restaurant. She imagines a space that fully captures the spirit of New Orleans—filled with Zydeco, jazz, and blues music, Mardi Gras beads, murals, complimentary beignets, and an atmosphere that delivers both the taste and the soul of the city.
Currently serving the Spring, Texas community, Queenie B’s Soul Food has become a beloved part of the neighborhood. The support from local residents, regular customers, family, and friends has been instrumental in its growth. Vangie credits her children, grandchildren, extended family, and loyal supporters for standing by her and helping keep her mother’s legacy alive.
“This neighborhood has really blessed me,” she says.
Through food, love, and unwavering passion, Queenie B’s Soul Food continues to honor the past while building something powerful for the future.
